Amit Shah reviews implementation of Bru agreement with Tripura CM in Delhi | India News

NEW DELHI: As many as 3,696 Bru families displaced from Mizoram have been resettled in Tripura and houses constructed for 2,407 families since signing of the Bru agreement in January 2020, home minister Amit Shah was apprised as he chaired a review here on Tuesday on the implementation of the agreement.
Part of the review meeting were Tripura chief minister Manik Saha and senior officers of the Central and Tripura governments.
Recalling the progress made since signing of the agreement, it was shared that of the total 6,959 rehabilitated families in Tripura comprising 37,136 Bru migrants, 3,696 have been resettled already and the rest are in the process of resettlement. “House construction has been completed for 2,407 families so far, while it is underway for the remaining families,” said an MHA officer.
Shah was further apprised about the issue of various certificates like permanent resident of Tripura certificate (PRTC), Scheduled Tribe certificates and Aadhaar card to the Bru migrants, apart from inclusion of their names in the electoral rolls of Tripura.
