In total, there are eight pangolin species in the world, all listed as Critically Endangered. Out of the eight, two are found in India – Indian Pangolin and Chinese Pangolin. The Chinese pangolin’s last habitat is in a few select pockets in northeast India. Pangolins are the world’s most trafficked mammals.
