Congress questions Didi giving PM benefit of doubt over raid | India News

NEW DELHI: In the wake of West Bengal chief minister Mamata Banerjee giving the benefit of doubt to Prime Minister Narendra Modi over agency raids, Congress on Tuesday accused the chief minister of “playing hide and seek” which would only absolve the BJP mascot of the grave questions he is facing around the country.
AICC spokesperson Supriya Shrinate said that if Banerjee gives a clean chit to the PM at a time when the entire country is raising questions about the misuse of agencies, it will raise doubts about her intentions. “I do not know if Mamata is trying to corner home minister Amit Shah while leaving out Modi. I don’t know whether she has decided that Modi is good, I will not comment on her point, but yes, I will definitely say two things. In this government of rulers sitting in Delhi, nothing moves without the approval of PM Modi. When you give a clean chit to the Prime Minister, somewhere you are acquitting him of the charges on which the country is asking questions today,” Shrinate remarked.
Further, the AICC spokesperson asserted that Congress and former party chief Rahul Gandhi are not worried about persecution through agencies, and will continue to seek accountability from the Prime Minister and the BJP government.
