Rise in voices of separatism in Punjab after AAP came to power: Jakhar | India News

JALANDHAR: Stating that there is rise in voices of separatism in Punjab after AAP came to power, senior BJP leader Sunil Jakhar on Friday asked Punjab chief minister Bhagwant Mann to clarify on the issue.
“It is not a mere coincidence that Kejriwal had stayed at a separatist’s house during run up to the 2017 polls and at that time Punjabis had then seen through their design and had rejected AAP. The same anti-Punjab elements, with AAP coming to power, have now have started to foment trouble with their inciting statements, now here in Punjab,” Jakhar said while speaking at ‘people’s vidhan sabha’ organized by the BJP in Jalandhar.
“Credit for encouraging these voices which were until now only heard in New York and London and are now getting active in Punjab goes to inefficiency and ineptness of AAP government. There were far too many incidents of separatist voices rearing their head in our state since AAP has come to power. Punjab needs peace and stability and it can’t afford to relive dark days again,” Jakhar said.
“They (AAP government) are incompetent or they are conniving with such elements. CM Bhagwant Mann should clarify his stand on the issue. Who will protect Punjab in such scenario,” Jakhar added.
